In an interview, product specialist Fabian Wenninghoff explains what really matters in practice and which solutions are particularly in demand.
Mr. Wenninghoff, as a key account manager, you have been working closely with customers for many years. In recent years, you have learned a lot about the needs of the industry at Logistics & Automation, among other places, but also in the companies on site.
Why is the demand for lifting aids increasing all the time?
The increasing demand is mainly due to the rapidly growing shortage of skilled workers. With their flexibility and easy handling, vacuum hose lifters can greatly relieve intralogistics employees and avoid illness-related absences. In order to provide the employees with the best possible support, it is necessary to use a lifting aid that is perfectly matched to the lifting goods. What requirements do ergonomic lifting aids have to meet?
In the first instance, our customers have the requirement that the hose lifters function reliably and reliably relieve the employees. In addition, our lifting aids streamline processes and enable work steps to be completed more quickly. Due to the simple operation, the hose lifters can be used intuitively. The uncomplicated replacement of suction attachments is also enormously important in practice, because different lifting goods are often handled. What criteria are decisive for the selection of a hose lifter?
First of all, it depends on the weight and surface conditions of the lifting goods. Thanks to our many years of experience, we can now offer a wide range of accessories, so that our systems can be adapted to almost any situation. We also provide advice according to your needs. This means that we visit the companies and take a close look at the lifting goods and the surroundings. Our experience shows that the standard range is only used in about ten percent of applications. In most cases, we manufacture individual special solutions that are precisely tailored to the lifting goods of our customers. So we can say with conviction: Individuality is very important to us! The close exchange is enormously important for us in order to know the needs exactly and to find the optimal solution together.Close exchange always takes place at trade fairs. Let's take a look at past editions of Logistics & Automation: What is your response?
This year we are at the trade fair in Dortmund for the third time. Already at our first participation in Logistics & Automation, we were able to have many interesting discussions and win numerous new customers afterwards. This has continued: The trade fair appearance was also very successful for us in 2023. In our eyes, this is mainly due to the trade audience, which approaches us with specific questions and requirements. Logistics & Automation is comparatively small – visitors are correspondingly targeted and well informed. We can often talk specifically about the applications at the trade fair stand and get involved in consulting. This is beneficial for both sides.A highlight of Timmer's trade fair appearance is the new multi suction cup base. What are the features of the newly developed product?
With the new multi suction cup base, we have expanded our portfolio with a real all-rounder. With its 29 small, flexible bellows suction cups and a high leakage tolerance, the multi-suction cup is suitable for a wide range of different lifting goods. Even uneven surfaces or unsealed cartons can be lifted safely. Even lifting several small boxes at the same time is safely possible with our new development. The multi suction cup base enables ergonomic, safe and efficient work and is a real problem solver, especially when it comes to pick & place handling. This is also shown by the first response from practice. We are very much looking forward to presenting both our multi suction cup base and our broad product portfolio at Logistics & Automation.
